I’ve been checking out some local tech events lately and as  someone who’s interested in all things geeky they’ve proved to be very interesting.

Last month I I checed out the first montreal tweetup. Organizes by @ariemoyal. All in all it was a fun meet up and i got myself involved with Twestival,  Twestival is a charity event organized by twitter users, to help promote  Charity: Water.  And who doesn’t like water.

Over the last two nights I checked out Mtl Newtech, and YulBlog... both very cool and worth checking out again.

Even though it’s been almost 2 years since i lived up north it still amazes me that there’s so many people who are passionate about  technology and social media just in this city.  The notion of having a Blogger or tech meetup in past cities i’ve lived was just crazy. In Montreal there seems to be one every night.

Moving forward I think these events are going to become a mainstay for me as I find my way in social media , Still to come this month , PodMtl and of course Twestival at the swanky Opus Hotel.
